@USGSVolcanoes Did this not make it into USGS Mauna Loa Maps section (where the red eruption notice on https://t.co/fChept2jD6 links to) for some reason? Seems only to be in media/images.

@AnelaKona@USGSVolcanoes@NOAA In case USGS is swamped, IZ is for inundation zones, separate areas that the lava will flow into and through (in this case Kaumana is east towards Hilo and Puako is west towards Kona). And yes the lava crossed the MLO access road overnight.
@USGSVolcanoes@NOAA HVO scientist Jack Lockwood noted a trend in the migration east of each subsequent NE rift zone eruption vents which would lead to an increased likelihood for flows to the southeast. Do these vent locations appear to continue that trend so far?

@wrighthydromet@techieyann@USGSVolcanoes@spaceneedl@NWSHonolulu The "Steepest-Descent Lines for Kīlauea, Mauna Loa, Hualālai, and Mauna Kea Volcanoes, Hawaiʻi" dataset has a map layer (including kmz) for the 1984 Mauna Loa eruption.
