some running thoughts on launchpads and the story of what & why sendshot and what’s ahead:
how it began:
at the end of may, @farcaster_xyz (a social app) was adding solana wallet support, and we decided to build a few quick mini-apps to ride the opportunity.
we launched 2 send arcade games (12k+ paid plays) and a @pumpdotfun wrapper, and randomly decided to name it 'sendshot fc'.
as a launchpad nerd and strong advocate of “attention capital markets”, i just wanted to experiment and learn more from the trenches.
given it was farcaster, we didn't even create an X account.
the launchpad experiment on farcaster went p well in the first few days - we did $10M+ volumes via pump and had 5k+ sendshot mini-app opens in the first 2 days (thanks to the push from @lindaxie and the fc team).
we noticed that most token launchers/creators demanded creator fees, and pump had v low (0.05% of total volume), which made it difficult to share across.
so we decided to build our own bonding curve and capture enough fees from LPs (while 100% locked) to share with creators and accrue value to the platform. we quickly built on top of @MeteoraAG (thanks to @dannweeeee@0xSoju) and made v1 live in ~3 days.
however, we soon realised that farcaster had v little solana audience (despite adding solana support). mostly it had base audience and speculation wasn’t much encouraged back then.
but the experiment gave some really good insights to iterate upon.
next, we built our own private launch APIs and decided to take the route of:
1 Launch Layer. Many Frontends.
we added more frontends like:
→ @raycast SendAI extension (you can simply launch tokens from your mac search)
→ @vibegamefun (a no-code game builder where you can launch or attach any coins to the game built in ~10 mins)
→ web version: https://t.co/iD9AmdkKkm for anyone to launch, claim fees, discover/screen, and quick buy all sendshot tokens.
and many more frontends (like @plutomobileapp) are upcoming over the next few months, including something [redacted] agentic.
---
what’s sendshot then?
instead of a meme launchpad, it’s a platform with many frontends.
currently 4, with the vision to have 20+ such frontends by end of 2025.
but why just another launchpad?
i’ve always believed that net-new asset issuance (token launches) is one of the biggest features of blockchains. base and solana together see 100k+ token launches daily.
just like owning the “trading order flow”, everyone will soon want to own the “asset issuance flow”.
we’ve already seen big trading players like @JupiterExchange and @moonshot adding token launches as a feature.
for us, sendshot is a way to own the “asset issuance flow” generated from our own or partner frontends.
fwiw: $send was also a fair launch token on @MeteoraAG at $500k fdv in july '24 - so we've a fair insight on what it goes beyond tokens.

road ahead?
it’s still very early for us. we’ve been intentionally soft launching and avoiding competing in launchpad wars directly or doing a big bang launch.
for us, it’s a long-term play to capture a significant layer of our vertical stack.
most good launchpads took their time to iterate and find PMF (for example, @BagsApp took 3–5 months of iterating launches before creating a new category of charity/creator royalty coins).
we’ll be focusing on the frontends, which are entirely new category creation (e.g., @vibegamefun with gamecoins) and many more in the adjacency of apps and agents.
we'll be adding more unique configurations too and build our own splitter contracts to give rise to interesting platform-creator mechanics.
whiles memes are really good for a launchpad as that's something you can push anything via cabal and yes, cabals are strong moats.
utility-based launchpads are much harder - as there are some in-built expectations compared to memes. but the rewards are much bigger, you might end up creating a billion-dollar category.
as someone well-connected in the solana builder ecosystem, we think this is our strong edge, and we’ll play to our strengths rather than being the 10th player in meme launchpads.
and yes as SendAI, we've been and always will be hyper-focussed on AI and sendshot is just a feature for us, not a hero product.
personally believe AI agents x Token Launches will be one of the most interesting crossovers (soon a v interesting experiment on this 👀)
excited for next few months on how things shape up – dm if you wanna get involved with sendshot eco in any way! 🐳
