@ChilliFowler This is why I'm hesitant to post any sort of corrections, as clarifying the position in relation to each of the tapes (and putting them in context of events on different dates) would take quite a bit of my time.

@ChilliFowler There are a bunch of different relevant tapes (video and audio) relevant to the Rendlesham incidents (plural) on various different dates. One of the problems with the Vallee paragraph is that it conflates discussions of several different tapes and oversimplifies stuff.
