@yudhanjaya@sanjiva You might find Chronicler interesting to use alongside Obsidian: https://t.co/sQYilfzaxS. I came across it via the folks at r/worldbuilding, and it integrates really nicely with Obsidian's semantics.
Best paper I've read so far this month:
All elementary functions (sin, cos, tan, exp, log, powers, roots, hyperbolic functions, π, e, and even basic arithmetic) can be generated from just one binary operator:
eml(x, y) = exp(x) − ln(y)
…plus the constant 1.
@I_Am_Jakoby Throwback to when I found a vulnerability in how a local ISP/Telco handled authentication (or lack thereof) in their self-care app and affected 11.8 million people.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
My stomach hurts from laughing. This has to be a joke.
🚨 IMPORTANT: Higher Frequency River Water Level Data 🆕
The Irrigation Department’s Hydrology and Disaster Management Division measures and publishes river water levels several times per hour.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) obtains these same measurements from the Irrigation Department, then issues an aggregated bulletin approximately every three hours.
And so, if you are analysing river water levels or building flood-related tools, the Irrigation Department’s higher resolution dataset is the better choice.
I am collecting the Irrigation Department data here: https://t.co/D6KXlcXxvC
I will continue to maintain https://t.co/yzQXpHQMYt, which is based off DMC's bulletins, since some of you are using it.

MR was also a key figure in perpetuating government corruption, nepotism, and the eventual economic crisis.
So miss me with this ‘respect elders at all costs’ and ‘Mahinda won the war’ propaganda bs.
Wild that ‘respecting elders is cultural’, but holding them accountable isn't.
Been meaning to write more for a while, finally put something down. New essay:
How to Lose Forever and Still Win. A short meditation on Sisyphus, quiet revolt, and why meaning shows up in the way we keep pushing.

This new DeepMind research shows just how broken vector search is.
Turns out some docs in your index are theoretically incapable of being retrieved by vector search, given a certain dimension count of the embedding.
Plain old BM25 from 1994 outperforms it on recall.

It’s remarkable that AI hallucinations went from the biggest topic just a year or so ago to a largely fixed problem people barely talk about anymore today.
