Best paper I've read so far this month:

All elementary functions (sin, cos, tan, exp, log, powers, roots, hyperbolic functions, π, e, and even basic arithmetic) can be generated from just one binary operator:
eml(x, y) = exp(x) − ln(y)
…plus the constant 1.

🚨 IMPORTANT: Higher Frequency River Water Level Data 🆕

The Irrigation Department’s Hydrology and Disaster Management Division measures and publishes river water levels several times per hour.

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) obtains these same measurements from the Irrigation Department, then issues an aggregated bulletin approximately every three hours.

And so, if you are analysing river water levels or building flood-related tools, the Irrigation Department’s higher resolution dataset is the better choice.

learn perception (stereo, depth, point clouds)

learn real-time systems (ROS2, middleware, RTOS)
learn hardware fundamentals (motors, drivers, actuators)

robots aren’t magic.

This new DeepMind research shows just how broken vector search is.

Turns out some docs in your index are theoretically incapable of being retrieved by vector search, given a certain dimension count of the embedding.

Plain old BM25 from 1994 outperforms it on recall.
