Posting news to local community groups on Facebook is a lesson in

Like, I'm not the council. I can't fix things for you.
Fear is getting the best of you, and in your panic you turn to authoritarianism. It promises you order, promise you peace, and all it demands in return is your silent, obedient consent.

In the words of V
I know you are afraid. Who wouldn't be? There's bad things on social media. There are a myriad of problems which conspire to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense.
@Asher_Wolf@abcnews The ban will not prevent 12 year olds appearing on 'hate pages', it will merely, at best, hide it from them, at worse push it to sites not regulated. This is no more than manufacturing consent for gov't control of the adult population through misdirected fear for children saftey.
How is the social media age ban going to work with embedded media? Many websites, including news sites, use embedded Tweets for example. I know of many organisations, ones specifically aimed to help kids or are educators, who embed their YouTube videos on their website. #NoAgeBan
It was telling in her statement this morning:
"Australia is not contributing to the war, nor are we supplying weapons for it on our own..."
So still supplying weapons, just not alone. Will stopping our supply stop the war? No, but by supplying weapons we're contributing to it.
We’re not asking you to end the genocide, we’re demanding an end to our complicity in it, a complete arms embargo, and actual opposition to these historic crimes, ie sanctions on Israel. In short: follow international law! Yet you continue to refuse, and continue to lie to us.
@Asher_Wolf Our primary school ran tech safety lessons for parents, and it basically came down to this.
Don't ban, engage. Build trust.
Or if you want to be more strict, use the tools already available to parents in devices and apps. Use them while kids learn.
But build that trust.
Psst! Hey, kid, come over here. Government barred you from social networks? Let me introduce you to me good friends SMS, IRC, email, usenet, and forum. Sure, they look a bit dusty...
@cmclymer For the sake of our future children, I strongly believe that tissues and socks can only be purchased by males via prescription from a pharmacist.
