I saw the ugly side of medical science that day. Nurse called the senior doc while putting the phone on speaker. He instructed, "Ventilator pa daala hua hai, 2-3 kheench lo, thump dikh jayega monitor pe". She cut the phone abruptly.

I was so numb, I couldn't even utter a single word.

Then within 30 minutes, they declared the news.

Every single day, I just can't get over the guilt, could I have done anything better!

When you lose a parent, you lose a part of yourself forever.

Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.

Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.

Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
