Imagine a forest of spikes and thorns full of hidden treasures. Every time you try to get in you get hurt instantly and have to return to lick your wounds, never achieving meaningul progress.

Now imagine you could put on an armored jacket, roam the forest freely and collect all the rewards at will.

I think this stupid metaphor I came up with while trying to pick up girls applies to many aspects in life. When you become immune to failure the world opens up in previously unimaginable ways

Take a look at the state of the vast majority of marriages over time and tell me if they seem spiritually fulfilled.

You can build beautiful connections with people without attempting to possess them for eternity and slowly eroding what was once a magical experience.

Seeing it as either meaningless hookup or lifelong prison severely limits your potential in forming authentic relationships
