@Spencer4hiretrd@WPerry1151@KimDobranski They haven’t got all the territory they wanted. And they haven’t captured Kyiv and overthrown the government which were original objectives
@WPerry1151@KimDobranski Is 4 years a long time?
The US along with NATO fought the taliban for 20 years just to give the Taliban control of Afghanistan.

NATO didn’t formally refuse Russia. Russia never submitted a membership application or entered NATO’s accession process.
In 2000, Putin publicly said he would not rule out joining NATO if Russia were treated as an equal. According to former NATO secretary-general George Robertson, Putin later asked when Russia would be invited. Robertson replied that countries are not simply invited they apply. Putin apparently did not want Russia placed through the same process as smaller applicant countries.

You have to apply like a job.
When have wars ever been over quick?
Saying they can’t defeat them is different then haven’t defeated them
Look at this US Iran conflict. Original plan was a couple weeks
Look at Afghanistan and Iraq
Look at every major conflict historically.
And the part you are missing is Russia wouldn’t be taking the war to North America.
If Russia attacked a single nato country, like Poland or Romania it would be an attack on all nato countries.
That could trigger a much more serious conflict in which Canada would join the battle
@CdnAngel1970@Marielaina3@ABDanielleSmith Let’s see you back up any of that with verified proof.
I can show you how NATO and the US has been tracking it
But I’m willing to bet you can show me anything
Ukraine aid isn’t sent without oversight. NATO coordinates deliveries and uses joint oversight boards and controlled trust funds. Donor countries track sensitive weapons and conduct audits. Wartime monitoring has gaps, but claiming there’s “no accountability” is false.
-We have the Central coordination through NSATU
- Joint NATO–Ukraine oversight: The NATO–Ukraine Council and the CAP Joint Management Board jointly identify needs, approve priorities and oversee NATO projects.
- Dedicated trust-fund controls: Money contributed to NATO’s Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package is held in a dedicated fund and allocated to approved projects rather than handed to Ukraine as unrestricted cash
- Weapons inventories and serial-number tracking. Including audits
- Inspections and remote verification: Donors use physical inspections where security permits, plus Ukrainian inventory records, photographs, serial-number checks, satellite information and reports of equipment lost or destroyed in combat
- Independent audits: National auditors, inspectors general and parliamentary committees review spending and weapons controls. The United States created a joint Ukraine-oversight structure involving the Defense, State and USAID inspectors general and publishes all findings
You sit on Twitter and get your insight from people who don’t have a fucking clue what you are talking about
Is there still corruption in Ukraine yes, has there been some misuse of funds, definitely.
But this happens in every single conflict around the globe.
It happens here in Canada, it happens in the US, it happened in Afghanistan.
But NATO and the countries supplying aid have cracked down, and Ukraine has taken steps to mitigate the corruption because of this.
@BillysTourism@KimDobranski You will never be able to fix all the drug addicts or homeless. No country has.
I’d like to see Canada adopt a housing first approach like Finland though
