We need to be talking more about the problems facing our industry and give the public a realistic picture of what is happening to it.
Instead, Lee continues to silence those who sacrifice the most to save it.
The systematic dismantling of the Southern Illinoisan is bad for Southern Illinois and heartbreaking on a personal level. Tom English, a proven leader, guided the editorial department to 41 statewide awards last week, but was deemed expendable this week. We need local news.
Today, we met with several representatives from @LeeEntNews to officially present a business plan to establish a design hub in Roanoke. Among other things, we’re the largest metro area in western Virginia and we’re within a days drive to 66% of the U.S. population.

Hannah. Peter. Nathan. Tom. Chris. To our corporate owners, these are just names on a page. To us, they're family. Lee Enterprises wants to outsource our copy desk to a hub hundreds of miles away. Ten of our members are going to lose their jobs unless we do something about it.
