@KatLewis_SLT @TammyDavidsonTh Such a good move! Glad you found the opportunity to do it too! I am 5 years in now… and just had the impending realisation of IF I DONT DO IT (travel) WHEN WILL I?!😅 thank you 😊
I chose to take a step back from permanent SLT in order to focus on travelling. I literally started my NQP role on the Mon after I finished uni on the Fri… I really feel like I need a break & a change. But as I’m also approaching the big 30 it can’t help but all feel a bit scary
I have been employed since 16 and always had a job. It feels like a big risk, particularly in this cost of living crisis, to not be in a permanent role. But I really haven’t heard anyone ever say they regret travelling.
@rubyge_@RCSLT@RCSLTLearn@_CitySLT_@CityLCS I applied for an SLTA job in September (finished uni end of following January) but then at the interview they were like… why didn’t you apply for the B5?! So I say if you want to go straight into a job apply even 4 months before.
Today someone said “have a lovely Christmas” when they left (it was the end of a block of therapy) … I’m not sure how to feel about this. Excited for Christmas? Scared at how the year is flying?
Just went to send a report and realised I’d written “disagreed and agreed with parent” at the end, instead of “discussed and agreed with parent” 🤣🤣🤣 thank goodness for proof reading 🙈 #MySLTDay
Had a parent tell me they’d already been trying to support their child’s speech using meaningful contrasts for fronting as their names are e.g. Kay and Tay (not their real names) 😆 I was highly amused #MySLTDay
