Well done to @edsheeran for going on stage with his guitar and proving that he can perform solo. I thought he was wrong not to speak out against the rapper hijacking his shows but he got rid of him and a bunch of spineless rats followed. All the usual subjects have popped up on TV to have their say. Each one more dumb than the last. Faithless Paloma telling us she whispers 'free Palestine' into her kids ears before they sleep. Now that's radical!
Ed Sheeran owned his craft and built his career for years, & stayed off controversies.
Macklemore’s career has fallen off and he was brought as an “opening act”, and thought that was the best time to make political statements.
Messed up Ed’s whole tour.
A proper parasite.
I just want people to understand ONE thing about this whole Ed Sheeran and Macklemore situation:
HE WAS WARNED.
Macklemore did the Palestine bit on the first night in New Jersey. After that, he promised NFL owners he wouldn’t do it again. Then he did it ANYWAY on the second night.
And this wasn’t even his tour. He knew other people’s jobs, contracts, reputations, and livelihoods were tied to this. He knew people behind the scenes would have to deal with the fallout, and he STILL chose to do it. That was selfish.
So if you want to blame Ed because that’s easier than blaming the person who was warned and STILL made the decision to do it again, go ahead. But at some point, people need to take accountability for their own actions instead of shifting the blame onto everyone else.
And before anyone wants to act like Bob Kraft somehow overstepped, let’s remember one very important fact:
HE OWNS GILLETTE STADIUM.
He has every right to decide what happens inside a venue he owns.
Think about it this way: if someone comes into YOUR house as a guest, you give them the rules and they agree to respect them. If they knowingly ignore those rules, you have every right to tell them to leave. You don’t owe someone continued access to your home after they deliberately disregard your boundaries.
The same principle applies here.
At the end of the day, this is a business. Macklemore may be the internet hero right now, but internet applause doesn’t change the fact that he was warned, gave his word, and then broke it.
That makes him a liability.
People aren’t going to trust someone when they know he’s willing to deliberately make decisions that could put other people’s jobs and business relationships on the line.
You don’t get to break your word, ignore the rules, drag other people into the fallout, and then blame everyone else when there are consequences.
Life just doesn’t work like that. Sorry. 💁🏻♀️
I will never forget how Armys ordered blank albums with no idea what the concept was and sold out tickets to stadiums all over the world having not known or heard a single thing about the album. It's BTS, so we just KNEW it would be a masterpiece. That is some next level trust.
So in a matter of days, Ed Sheeran has lost all his support acts, he's lost his house band, he's been banned from various commercial radio stations, Ireland's press has stated he's never welcome to return to the country, organized protests are being formed to take place in the grounds outside upcoming concert dates, he's been accused of having links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Goebbels-style cartoons have been pushed everywhere of his likeness.
And the left think this is progress?
