@Maheshbr4U@DKShivakumar is announcing projects one after the other and none of them are showing any progress. It is becoming a nightmare travelling in Bangalore.
@AlokPatel I hope that Bengaluru doesn't fall victim to these rail only ideologists. A lot of them these days. The city needs both roads and rail but they are just not willing to listen.
@bhaveshch79 When will you guys start asking your companies to move to other parts of Bengaluru? Why does every one of them need to pile up on or around ORR?
More metro lines alone won't fix a physical shortage of road space.
"Roads vs metro" is a false debate — Bengaluru needs both.

@Puyangan5 I am glad that the poor are able to earn well, but autos are literally holding the city hostage. Public transport in the city should be cheap, their unions and blackmailing is causing far fewer job creation than would have happend without it.
@Arunaurs Why is it so hard for you guys to think of second order consequences? All this will do is encourage buying of more private & revenue sites which have no long term planning of infrastructure and utilities, instead of BDA properties. What will happen to the city then?
@up_10t_army FTLOG build infrastructure.
These kind of harebrained ideas will crash the economy. Build a ton of metro and suburban rail instead, a large increase in supply will automatically bring down prices.
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar How will we have multiple forms of public transport if we reduce and constrain any future capacity of arterial roads?
Please look at the map of Singapore, they aren't building Metro exactly aligned to pre-existing arterial roads. We can't expand in the future, they can.
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar Nobody said India has only old people. We also need go take into account transport needs of old people which your rail only zeitgeist doesn't.
Singapore also has a great network of arterial multi lane roads, grade seperators. Did younotice that?
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar Goods & freight transport, construction materials, emergency services, professional carrying tools, super senior citizens, inter city family trips. All of these use cases need roads. Why is this so difficult to understand?
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar None of them are major sources of pollution. There are plenty of cities which have roads and rail along with very good AQI.
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar Again, there are many use cases a metro does not serve for which we need road capacity. You are building metro on pre-existing arterial roads, not some galli nukkad.
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar Buses are also public transport and they run on roads. These double deckers will allow us go augment Metro capacity with BRT in the future.
Building Purple line without a double decker was a mistake, we should not repeat that with other arterial roads like West ORR.
@shivram1150@Kuma50531Kumar This _rail only_ mindset is harmful to the city. Please stop it.
He already gave you examples of where Metro has been built without a double decker and traffic is still a nightmare.
I would much rather Bengaluru model Shangahi than Tokyo.
