Investing in Scotland’s Future - The Alex Salmond Awards.
"It is about giving someone a chance."
"Alex wanted Scotland to walk tall. We want young Scots to have that same confidence in themselves and in what they can achieve."

On the sixteenth of December 1960 a twelve-year-old boy was put on a table in a San Jose hospital, given electric shocks until he was unconscious, and had an ice pick hammered through the thin bone above each eye and swept from side to side through the front of his brain, because his stepmother had told the doctor he was defiant. The doctor's fee was two hundred dollars.
Howard Dully was a big, clumsy, daydreaming boy whose mother had died when he was five, and his father had married a woman called Lou who could not stand him. She took him to six psychiatrists. All six told her the problem was not the boy. The seventh was Walter Freeman, who had performed more lobotomies than any man alive, who drove between state hospitals in a van he called the lobotomobile doing them by the dozen in an afternoon, with no gloves and no surgical training, and who had once done twenty-five in a day. Freeman's notes on Howard, which Howard did not read for forty-four years, record the symptoms. He objects to going to bed. He turns the lights on when there is broad daylight. He does not react to love or to punishment. He has a savage streak. On that evidence, and Lou's signature, and two hundred dollars, Freeman wrote that the boy would benefit from a transorbital lobotomy and did it four days later.
Howard remembers the table. He remembers waking with two black eyes and a fever and no idea what had been done to him, because nobody told him, then or ever. His father never spoke of it. Lou put him into a state institution the following year, and the boy with the holes in his brain spent the next forty years in and out of asylums, juvenile halls, a jail, halfway houses and the street, drinking, drifting, never quite able to say why he was the way he was, with a photograph that existed somewhere of a doctor in a suit standing over a child with a steel spike in each eye socket.
At fifty-six, driving a school bus, he went to find out. He found his file in Freeman's archive at a university in Washington, in the doctor's own handwriting, and read for the first time what his stepmother had said and what the doctor had agreed to. He went to see his father, who was eighty, and asked him why he had let it happen, and his father said he had been bullied into it. Howard told the story on the radio in 2005 and five million people listened to a man weep over a piece of paper.
Walter Freeman was not a quack. He was a professor of neurology, the man who had brought the lobotomy to America, and the operation had won its inventor the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1949. The journals published him. The hospitals booked him. The newspapers called it a miracle. He did it to three and a half thousand people, nineteen of them children, and he kept doing it until 1967, when a patient died on the table and the hospital took his privileges away, and he spent his last years driving the country in the van looking up his old patients to prove it had worked.
That is what settled science looked like from inside, to a twelve-year-old. A mother's complaint, an expert's confidence, a procedure with a prize behind it, two hundred dollars, and a lifetime nobody could give back.
The same institutions now tell you what your child should eat, in the same voice, with the same certainty, and the leaflet has a logo on it. Howard Dully is in his seventies and still cannot say what was taken. Nobody ever apologised.

"Transgender doctor who quit Scotland for new job in Australian coastal resort after a
high-profile tribunal is at centre of another gender row
Dr Beth Upton, now known as Lis, has been named in an alleged incident at a New South Wales hospital where a woman patient refused treatment from the male-born medic
Her family claim that fears she would be ‘bullied’ into accepting the 6ft doctor as female meant her husband refused to leave her bedside. Under Australia’s controversial self-ID laws, transgender doctors are under no legal or professional obligation to disclose their gender history or trans status to patients"

@Yesunitedscot Thanks for that.
I agree with the networking but it seems there is still a lack of urgency with regard to Scotland's future particularly wrt the the current & projected geopolitical landscape.
Scots are are risk due to our continued subjugation to the warmongering AngloState.
This is outrageous.
Some sites in Scotland are sacred.
IONA is one such site.
Please share to raise awareness.
Shame on @JohnSwinney Gillian Martin MSP @scotgov and anyone else involved in this obscenity!
NO just NO!

Lula vs. Bolsonaro: I was held in solitary confinement for 1,901 days for revealing the truth about the U.S. government's killings and espionage, including against Brazil and its industries. Out of power, Lula fought for my freedom. In power, Lula discussed my persecution with Pope Francis, who decided to meet with my family and offer help. After my release, Lula and I met in Rome to mourn the Holy Father's passing. Lula was kind to my children and asked for nothing in return. In contrast, Jair and Flávio Bolsonaro did nothing and said nothing. Yet without the ability to say no to Washington and Tel Aviv, there can be no domestic policy, only foreign instructions. Those orders are always the same: "Expand our theft of resources and wages, and keep your mouths shut about us murdering children." Sellouts will surrender everything in exchange for a cut, even their own tongues.
#CanPayWontPay- we've not had a TV Licence since 2011.
.
We refuse to pay for anti-indy propaganda. Fuck them.
.
We have asked them repeatedly to make documentary on why Scots won't pay.
We have invited them to come and interview those who would like to express their opinions on WHY we have refused since (approx) 2011-2014 to pay.
.
For the past 14yrs they have declined my invitation
@HaggisPark True.
The current SNP are complicit in the plunder of Scotland's resources and wealth. Swinney learned his job well under the AngloState.
However, we really should remember that Scotland has been plundered for 319 years and counting.
@grazzar09 We need to Liberate Scotland before 2030.
The globalists have their Agenda as do the UK/EU for that timescale.
Are Scots not aware of the urgency?
There will be little of Scotland left to sustain Scots if the AngloState & complicit Scotgov continue on the current trajectory.
@thejohnhannah Yes. Absolutely.
Does anyone believe that Labour will uphold workers rights? I don't think they have since Harold Wilson was PM.. maybe not even then!
I'm old enough to remember when Labour passed the Equal Pay Act 1970
Many Scots remember that Labour run Glasgow City Council failed to implement it.. up to and including 2015.
Glasgow is still paying the cost.
This 👇is virtual signalling!
Don't trust the AngloState!
Firing workers and rehiring them on worse terms is unacceptable.
That hasn’t stopped SNP-led Glasgow City Council trying to fire & rehire 23,000 people before Labour bans the practice next year.
Yesterday our govt set out how; here’s more from me & @Kate_Dearden👇
@IndyScotParty Christmas
A religious festival celebrating the birth of Christ.
It isn't compulsory to celebrate, send cards or otherwise acknowledge the festival. However, it is shameful that some organisations demand that the event is downgraded to 'happy holidays'!
Merry Christmas! 🎄🎉💫
@SnpBaaaaad True. Britnats are the pits.
The AngloState has brainwashed the majority. Your peabrain can't cope with anyone who asks questions, who does research & who engages in critical thinking and analysis.
It isn't your fault you are stupid. It is your fault that you do nothing about it!
@eastcoaststoat@Havingthekitche@ArrDee7@Nahdagostini Projection much?
It seems you can't cope with independent thinkers & individuals who actually engage in research to understand the facts of the situation.
Maybe go back to crayons & colouring books and leave the adults to the serious stuff.
