@W1ldWallFlower@Robbie_Reasons I think the issue is the influencer came in and insisted on being hired, they weren't approached for the job.
If a plumber showed up and insisted on fixing your perfectly working loo for their usual fee, you'd find it a bit odd.
@juha_remes@Janet4369587977@Ceemeinmyoffice@Lifeonwheels95 I think you and I agree on most points. Unfortunately I think the way it's going is opening things for more harm than good. Anyone with malicious intent will find a way. It feels like going back to where we started with more paperwork and chance of harassment
@juha_remes@Janet4369587977@Ceemeinmyoffice@Lifeonwheels95 Thats what I would assume. It feels like TERFs want it both ways. Biological sex is only this immutable truth when its convenient and suddenly negated by appearance when its not. It seems an overly complicated way to do it when really anyone can be dangerous regardless of parts.
@Janet4369587977@Ceemeinmyoffice@Lifeonwheels95 Hmm. So is this essentially saying that if they pass well enough they would be considered men and legally removed? Would they be able to legally use the mens room despite being the wrong sex? But if a transwoman passes well, she is still expected to use the men's room or unisex..
@Ceemeinmyoffice@Janet4369587977@Lifeonwheels95 I don't know how one proves it. I imagine if they have evidence of dressing as that gender, name change or change of pronouns would help. I dont know how it would apply to single sex spaces. I guess removing transmen for looking manly despite female sex would be illegal.
@Janet4369587977@Ceemeinmyoffice@Lifeonwheels95 Then this part would have to be a mistake, as adopting a "gender fluid identity" where they present as their birth sex some days and also not is here considered sufficient evidence of a reassignment process and protected.
@Janet4369587977@Ceemeinmyoffice@Lifeonwheels95 It has an example of discrimination against someone nonbinary (gender fluid in this case) in those paragraphs. Also, a person merely needs to propose to undergo transitioning (and it can be social not medical) to be protected. (2nd image is long btw)
@DavidDhenry@Lifeonwheels95 They were not kicked out for being women, and the belief that certain people should be excluded from certain spaces is not a protected belief. This is not discrimination. They would have no case.
@Ceemeinmyoffice@Lifeonwheels95 Excluding trans people is not a protected belief. Gender identity IS a protected characteristic, however. A TERF can be refused service for being discriminatory but a trans person can't be kicked out for their gender any more than these women can. Funny that.
@isgoodactually@XXMetalDisaster@kln3109@tinyrowlet "Men can defend themselves against [transmen]"? Weird how you think theyd be the aggressor when you also seem to think penis=danger and vagina=victim. So you don't think maybe "women who think theyre men" might be in danger in the men's room? Those "females" not worth protecting?
@i_am_the_truest@jaubreyYT Worse. Paying YouTube to force people to watch it. The viewer doesn't get anything out of it, they just whack the skip button as soon as they can.
@relaxedvaquera@furious31630 If it helps, the Conservative party was in for 14 straight years and 5 prime ministers, so I think it might be Labour's first crack at it?
@Puggysdad@AbiSpeaks@Fart_GPT@girldrawsghosts Person who said it isn't American. She's not THEIR SoE.
Though the fact that a lot of non-US people know who she is is probably another problem. We only know because of dumb shit like this making headlines.
@heymsrebecca@DiscussingFilm Because he's allowed to go places and have a life. How often to you get an invite to the BAFTAs? Where the story of your life gets an award? He has to deal with his condition being disruptive all the time. Others can deal with it once.
@nejafeja@EFCevie Week? Isn't the idea that you give up luxuries for Lent so you enjoy what you can (like pancakes) the day before? I feel like it being for a week could defeat the point! XD
Not that I've ever met anyone that takes Lent seriously...
