Earl overreaction: Flemings is good but has really underwhelmed as a scorer / shot creator across 4 games. Wouldn’t shock me if both okorie and philon end up better players
REPORT: The Hawks have a preferred framework in place to execute a sign and trade that would send Jonathan Kuminga to the Lakers, per @khobi_price.
Hawks would receive:
Jarred Vanderbilt
2032 first-round pick swap
Lakers would receive:
Jonathan Kuminga
@andlankell It just feels like his deficiencies as a free throw shooter put a cap on his offensive potential, at least as a scorer. If he were more confident/competent there I could see him generating a lot more effective drives
@BTRowland@Preet410_ Brad aren’t we just gonna have to use seconds to get off any of these bad contracts anyway given the roster crunch we already have
Problem with hawks S&T is ATL already has 16 rostered players, 1 of which is Hield who is out of the rotation and earning $9mil, so hawks aren’t in a position to fill another roster spot with an unmovable contract even if there are picks attached.
looks like the hold up on kuminga signing is money related
kuminga’s camp wants more money and the lakers are still trying to negotiate the contract
hawks are open to a sign and trade to help kuminga get paid
ball seems to be in the lakers court
also kuminga likes cavs/hawks
Franz Wagner, one of the best floater games in the world while self-creating them off the bounce as a 6’10 elite defensive Swiss Army knife.
Special talent.
The Hornets can absorb Dorian Finney-Smith into their mid-level exception or LaMelo Ball trade exception.
They still have $28 million in room below the luxury tax line for more salary dumps.
They also now have a whopping 20 second-round picks over the next seven drafts.
The question I still have is where would he have gone if hawks didn’t take him 1. Real possibility it’s like 10 or 11. I rly don’t know if the league was actually high on him. I think it was just Landry/ATL. Would love to get some inside reporting on the decision to go with ZR
@ChuckingDarts Makes sense. I also remember some athleticism affecting finishing discourse, but not sure that’s it. Comparing KF to someone like Maxey as a prospect finishing around the rim is just a stark contrast.
