The proper maintenance of ships’ equipment is as important as proper treatment of the #seafarers. Failure in either system can lead to serious accidents. PSC boarded the #Lita at the Port of Ghent and found 36 deficiencies. The ship was detained for 9 days

#ITFDockers in Ghent paid a visit to #Blumenthal's MV #Lita to deliver #solidarity and emergency water to the #seafarers o/b after #crew was forced to collect rain water with tarpaulins for drinking water after the ship ran out of potable water in May.
