Microsoft Exchange email delivery to our domain remains broken. As a small organization, our strength lies in our community. But the tech challenge is blocking these vital connections.
Please use alternative communication channels if you need to reach us.

📢 Important update:
Since early July, emails sent from @Microsoft Exchange (@Outlook) servers to our @itforchange.net addresses have not been reaching us. This has disrupted communication with our community, collaborators, and external colleagues.
If you're trying to reach us, our team is available on alternative channels.
We request Microsoft to address this issue urgently and help reestablish connectivity to all who wish to reach us.
Thank you for your patience and persistence as we navigate this challenge.
The @South_Centre's @abdulmc presented on what actions civil society can take to champion progressive digital tax reform at the @ITforChange Residential Institute on Frontiers and Frames for a New Digitality held in Bali, Indonesia.
The promises of platformization remain unfulfilled. Instead of improving key metrics like female labor participation, the expansion of gig work has accelerated inequalities across gender, class, geography, and race—leaving women workers more vulnerable. In the run-up to Beijing+30, we need bold, multi-level policy action to build a feminist future of work.
In February 2025, IT for Change, @DAWNfeminist , and @FESonline hosted four regional consultations across Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Bringing together over 50 feminist scholars, labor rights lawyers, gender experts, and trade unionists, these discussions laid the groundwork for systemic change.
Read the highlights from our synthesis report here which was launched on 10 March 2025 at the UN CSW69. ➡️
We demand swift policy action to address the systemic challenges that plague women workers and to facilitate social protection accounting for the unpaid care work performed by them.

Our Residential Institute on Frontiers and Frames for a New Digitality 2025 commenced today! Participants from across the globe arrived in Bali and settled in, marking the start of a week-long journey into critical engagements on digital justice. We began Day 1 with a round of icebreakers and an overview of the institute, followed by a thought-provoking lecture on interpreting the digital condition by Anita Gurumurthy. Participants then engaged in group work unpacking the language of the digital, before bringing their own local contexts to bear on pressing questions about our digital futures. Exciting discourse has begun—stay tuned for more!

We’re thrilled to see our panel at RightsCon 2025 in Taipei covered by @EileenGuo for MIT Technology Review! Our Communications Manager, @Sadafwani42 hosted a roundtable on hate speech and AI, bringing together critical perspectives from South Asia, Kenya @BeckyWambui & @WangariNjathi), and Brazil (Yasmin Curzi).
The discussion highlighted how online attacks are increasingly met with automated and AI-driven content moderation—often trained on North American datasets, making them less effective at detecting problematic speech in non-English languages. This gap can have severe consequences for tech-facilitated violence in the Global South, where contextually inappropriate moderation can either silence critical voices or allow harmful content to persist.
