Me: Hi, I'm the med student
Patient (works in medicine): what are you going into?
Me: EM
Patient: So an ER nurse?
Me: no, a doctor
Patient: So are you applying to med school or PA school?
Me: I will be a doctor in 6 months
Patient: a doctor of...
Me: ...medicine 🤦♀️
8 years ago when I was addicted to words with friends I had a rival that was a school teacher. We were a very even match. High scoring, competitive games every time. One day she messaged me and said she really enjoyed playing me but was deleting and wanted to know if it’d be ok to add me on FB in case she reinstalled so she could find me again.
Since then I’ve watched her husband walk out on her and her boys, she moved across her state and started a new career, excelled and received awards in her field, her boys have grown, one graduated this year and has a gf. Now this month she’s treating herself to several weeks in Europe with her best friend.
I’m so proud of her but as I was liking the pictures of her trip it hit me how strange it is that I’ve gotten to watch this random person walk through life and grow and watch her kids grow up, just cause I used to play scrabble.
The internet is a weird place, but I’m a big fan of all my friends I’ve made by our paths crossing in weird corners of the web, and I’m just as proud of all of you and am grateful to have gotten a glimpse into your lives as well.
They say god gives his toughest battles to his strongest warriors.
He gave me super treatable, early stage Hodgkin’s lymphoma because he knows I’m a lil baby.
Winter Storm Warning: Snow models indicate anywhere from 1 to 83 inches. Could start Wednesday afternoon at 4 or 5. Maybe not until Thursday morning. Or night. Maybe not at all. Actually, it might just rain. Don't know. So, buy bread and milk. Dress warm. But not yet.

Tweeting is dangerous because there’s a 99.9% chance no one ever sees or cares about your impulsive thought—but there’s a 0.01% chance it gets more attention than all of your life’s work combined. And in all likelihood it’ll be something like “on god, poo poo really do be stinky”
