The most popular song by the 1975 commercially being in the back half of one of the most interesting albums about addiction is really confusing
The sound is still a banger tho
@repeatvisitors Hospice is one of those RYMcore albums that has sorta fallen to the wayside in recent years- alongside like Boxer, the xx, and the soft bulletin :(
Did I redownload Discogs just to get a vinyl from Tom Verlaine’s personal connection? Yes- it’s retribution for being broke during the Lynch estate sale
@wiredrat If it was just like 1 newspaper saying that then I could see that- but hundreds of respected papers across the globe are all announcing the news, and I doubt with certainty that many celebrities, especially Oliver, could afford to spread fake news to that degree for promo
The New York Knicks have officially won their first NBA Championship in 53 years, defeating the San Antonio Spurs.
It is the Knicks’ first NBA title since 1973.
@AmeliaSamson7@BarryPierce The song the tweet is talking about is very very heavily based on The Stranger by Albert Camus!! A major plot point in the protagonist shooting an Arab man on a beach without a motive- hence the song Killing an Arab
@J1603Kevin@GuidoFawkes I’m pretty sure the rule of thumb is there is no expectation of privacy in public- especially if you’re a public figure. For someone like Mandelson, due to his level of being in the public eye, he doesn’t have an expectation of privacy whilst he is in public yk
Will’s music is deeply personal, and bodys still is personal- but it can be detached enough so it can reflect on anyone. You can play bodys at a party, in your room alone, make out, break up, any time. It is truly amazing and 18 year old college student wrote it in his dorm room
Bodys might be the greatest thing Will Toledo ever wrote. Is it his best song? No. Is it the best song on twin fantasy? No. But it just has that zing that makes it sound like a standard, it is utterly timeless. I think that’s bc it can be played in any mood-
And it works. It is catchy as all hell and is distinct from the very start. It is long enough to indulge but short enough to be accessible for people who have never heard car seat headrest. Bodys, to me, is the best song Will has ever written as it transcends him as a songwriter
