17+ year IT veteran & engineer. Cloud, IoT, Embedded, Autonomous Vehicle, AI/ML/DL. It's the 21st century, let's act like it! Where is my flying car?!?
@fervoenergy Her quote is simple on its face but in reality reveals a profound truth. Clean baseload is a societal unlock code for clean abundance for all humanity.
@TAE Comparatively speaking, if you beat the physics issues then everything else should fall into place. It should be like you running the tables. But, that first set of physics hurdles are extremely high. If you win then all of Humanity and all our posterity will win forever. ❤️
@CFS_energy@BobMumgaard I'll give that a read. Thank you very much for constructive engagement. To be clear, I want you and others to succeed. I worry about the messaging and open recognition of real upcoming challenges. Thanks again.
@CFS_energy@BobMumgaard The analogy is somewhat misplaced and Bob must know that. Q_Engineering > 1 and Q_Science > 1 are very different animals. Furthermore, doing Q_E > 1 in an economically viable way is a further different animal. You know that too. Knocking down rhetorical straw men is not helpful.
@CFS_energy@BobMumgaard Finally, just use your imagination that I rightfully hassled you (again) about your Tritium plans and lack of any meaningful fuel cycle discussion. Shame on you. I know you can do better.
@CFS_energy@MIT Sincerely, could you speak with some seriousness about how you will source Tritium *and* what engineering progress you have made in your plans for that fuel? You seem very comfortable taking plasmas all day. You barely mention Tritium, if at all. No hand waving, please.
@LazyyReader@whatisnuclear Actual carbon, like soot and smaller particulates, are but one example of classical pollution that is known to kill and sicken at mass scale. Also other combustion poisons exist. Bunker fuel is awful. Humans near ports should not be martyred for commerce.
@CFS_energy Hold up. Until someone shows economical and long-term reliable Tritium breeding, you are not justified in saying your fuel is abundant. Nobody can say "oh that's just an engineering problem." Everything is eventually an engineering & economics problem.
@EnergyDeb8tr@xenergynuclear Candidly, it's ignorance. I came across process heat as I sat down trying to remove fossil fuels from industry. But you have to take time and lean. I think I got lucky since I was searching for ways to eliminate pollution.
@actfast I wonder if capturing as many as possible and using them to contact families and friends back in Russia would help motivate civilian anger towards Putin?
