Lord Baden Powell understood the complimentary nature between men and women, and actively encouraged the Girl Scouts. It is tragic that many people today do not see the charm and beauty in difference. They simply wish to mash everything together, and this destroys the magic of variety.

Scouting, whether Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, was always about bringing about the best in both boys and girls in a way that suggested an average, or above average, way to carry themselves in life. Boy Scouts helped boys hone their masculinity in a beneficial way. and girls got the same from Girl Scouts. The programs existed to enhance who you already were, not rebuild your nature.

Today, Scouting America exists as a mockery of what Lord Powell stood for. Attempting inclusivity by adding girls to the Boy Scouts would have been laughed off as a comedy routine in that day and age. Girl Scouts existed for a reason, and girls did, at one time, enjoy their activities because they were in-line with female mentality. Both existed for an important reason.

Scouting today is not in any regard analogous to the proposition of Lord Baden Powell. Even before the rebrand of the Boy Scouts of America to 'Scouting America' there was a constant obfuscation of what Lord Powell intended for the group versus what manifested in the field.
