UPDATE: Senator Risa Hontiveros announces on Facebook that the Gatchalian bloc will donate one month's worth of salary to the victims of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao.

In a statement, they also encourage the Cayetano bloc to join their initiative.

"This is a moment when the Senate, whatever its internal divisions, can still speak through one act of shared compassion," it said.
