On Zuko, he is prodigy because he is a fire-bender who challenged General Zhao to an Agni Kai. All at ½ capacity

You do realize it us just a TV show. However, Katara benefited from a great teacher Hama who invented the technique while emaciated and experiencing torture.
Bending is martial arts not magic hence age also played a role in Hama losing

If you are a football fan I'd say Katara is more Ronaldo than Messi.
They are both great but one is just magnitudes higher (Aang)
