@EastMidRailway can someone reach out to me please? My little sister was told the Sheffield train she had prebooked was full, and no one is giving her any info on when she can get onto a train. She is a young woman travelling totally alone with more travel to do the other side👎
@YodelOnline you are the worst delivery company ever, please tell your delivery drivers to actually ring/knock my door next time as opposed to just flinging it on my step in full view of everyone so it gets stolen. I was literally in the house waiting. you suck.
Not my eloquent best, I grant you. To clarify: I meant to say, that in many states now, if a young girl is raped, even by a family member, she would be forced to have that child against her will, or risk going to prison longer than her perpetrator. And yeah, I think that’s about the darkest way to destroy a young woman’s life & autonomy & I say that coming from a place of first hand experience. There is too much unnecessary & violent shrapnel happening to our most marginalized groups & total fear of reprisal in speaking up. Heck, I’m scared too. But more than fear of personal ridicule, I fear the unmitigated glee of mob mentality, the kind that leads too easily to dehumanization & the disintegration of our collective moral compass. As an empath, I struggle to find the words to articulate my heartbreak for the rising toll of individual human beings presently tangled in this risky, political power play. Perhaps naively, I always envisioned progress as an empowering endeavor, working towards healing and understanding, with the goal of becoming a unified nation. Our great strength & defining characteristic ought to be in priding ourselves on protecting our most vulnerable, rather than high-fiving as we dismantle basic ethics & equality. See you next time on “showbiz libtards with hot, woke takes!” But speaking as an abused kid, who’s lived a lot of life, both on the skids & at the top, I guess I just don’t know how to stay silent despite the awareness that these days, it’s increasingly risky to be honest & can lead to muddled answers when caught off guard. Probably not a great sign that free speech is really free if even a rambling, loquacious riffer like yours truly, clams up in the face of a real deal question at some frothy, workplace event.
That’s all, folks! 🤍🤍🤍
In 2020, I was told we couldn't cast an actor from Game of Thrones in a movie because he didn't have a million followers on Instagram.
He had Nine Hundred Thousand.
This might be brushed off but with the resurgence of the far right, regressive attitudes towards the LGBT+ community and homophobia on the rise, a PM publicly taking an HIV test is an important thing to do. This would have been unthinkable 30 years ago.
Credit where it’s due.
Martin Lewis is my fave man on TV he's like financial batman, he just looked at the camera with eyes black as night&said "British Gas I WILL be speaking with u this week" on behalf of a 42 y/o mum of 2 whose bill stress is making her ill. If I was British Gas I would be shaking
The police have now released images of the four blokes who mugged us for Wes's watch just by the Dakota Hotel heading back from Canal Street, Manchester in early Nov. It's resulted in likely permanent scarring of Wes's face and head injuries he's still recovering from (headaches, swelling).
These are just the 4 we remember that night - they match the description I tweeted on that day.
Please... share so we can get these off the streets and prevent anybody else going through what we did @lizziecundy@MailOnline@theJeremyVine@GranadaReports@TalkTV@SkyNewsLaura@BBCNWT@AndyBurnhamGM@TheSun #watchtheft #watchgang #rolexripper
Thanks to the lovely Will @GMPCityCentre for leading the investigation - he's been fab. And the fab @jameshjourno for raising awareness of the risks.
