Are Pure Planets pay to win?
Disregarding mechanical skill and mastery of the game.
2 of the biggest factors that give Pures an edge over Duos, Trios, and Quads is their Elemental Value, and their Boon.
Boon
Boons are passive/active abilities exclusive only to their Purity and some would see Pure's to have better than others. You can build your squad around your Avatar's Boons to either Avatar supporting apostles, or Apostles Supporting Avatar, or a mix.

The Inferno's Boon is just straight up Damage and %DPS, the Wasteland however has Armor shred and DPS. Inferno's Boon is more heavy on keeping the Avatar alive since it deals the most damage, whilst Wasteland can be a mix if Avatar and Apostles supporting each other.

Elemental Value
Elemental Value translates to how deep in the skill Tree you can reach for stronger Abilities and passives. So pures naturally are able to reach the very end of the Skill Tree having automatically 100skill points.

Which is why birth skills are important because not only do they add more skills points to their specific element but they also allow immediate access to those abilities.

Wasteland at the bottom immediately has Access to the Strongest ability Inferno can reach naturally through the skill tree "Divine Conflagration" by having it as a birth skill. Not only that since the Wasteland has 2 Fire Card Skills and 2 Fire Perks, this adds 11% Fire per fire Card Skill, and 5% Fire per Fire Perk. for a total of 32% Fire on top of it's already existing 31% Fire which makes this Planet 63% Fire!

In conclusion, a Wasteland may not have all Access to the Fire skill tree but as long as the Planets are built with the right apostles and bred properly they can essentially go against Pures. Pures have an easier path to efficiency but does not automatically let you win. Skill is always a factor.

As of writing this only 6/12 Apostle classes are available and having all 12 allows for a lot theory crafting and building. Boons are not available to be tested yet but it would be a massive game changer!
