Pan lies, not to hurt Pheem, but because she’s a people pleaser. Disappointing someone she loves feels worse than hiding a truth she hopes she can contain. Except Pheem already knows. For someone who finally dared to lower her walls, that lie confirms every reason she was afraid to lower them at all.
