If God answers prayers, why do parents still bury babies they begged Him to spare?

Can someone believe in God, love Him, and still doubt that He intervenes in human affairs?

When we say, “God answered my prayer,” how do we know it wasn’t preparation, hard work, timing, chance, or the kindness of other people?

If every outcome can be explained as God’s will, whether the answer is yes, no, or wait, what evidence would ever convince us otherwise?
