Dutch investor Kenzoll Capital has partnered with MSF Commercials to restart the Sperrgebiet Diamond Mine, formerly known as Elizabeth Bay, near Lüderitz.

The mine’s licences cover 245 364 hectares of the Sperrgebiet and hold estimated resources of 6.3 million carats onshore and 4.2 million carats offshore.

Kenzoll says its investment could reach N$828.5 million, subject to regulatory approvals, as the partnership expands exploration beyond diamonds into heavy mineral sands and critical metals.

Capricorn Group is buying an 81.6% stake in South African asset finance firm Centrafin in a deal valuing the business at N$788.3 million.

“South Africa is an important market in our growth ambitions,” Capricorn chief executive David Nuyoma said.

Capricorn has an option to take its stake to 100% over five years.

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals.
