Today, the IHC quashed their case in its entirety. Justice Azam Khan adjourned the proceedings as the state's special prosecution team did not bother to appear. Meanwhile, the NCCIA has directed the IHC to decide within two weeks a petition challenging the Supreme Court order.

وَ قَضٰى رَبُّكَ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْۤا اِلَّاۤ اِیَّاهُ وَ بِالْوَالِدَیْنِ اِحْسَانًاؕ-اِمَّا یَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ اَحَدُهُمَاۤ اَوْ كِلٰهُمَا فَلَا تَقُلْ لَّهُمَاۤ اُفٍّ وَّ لَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَ قُلْ لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِیْمًا۔
