Reminder to self...

[Chief Health Officer, Victoria @VictorianCHO]

Why is getting to very low/no cases and keeping them there so important? The graph below is of Switzerland. Three cases on June 3 and now 10,000 per day and rising exponentially. If you don't crush this virus, it could crush you.

If you only watch one thing today, please make it this message from Abbey – a Clinical Nurse Specialist at @TheRMH ED.

@DanielAndrewsMP Is @ALDIAustralia making smart choices by having special buys at the moment?

[Dan Andrews @DanielAndrewsMP]

We often talk about healthcare workers being on the frontline of this pandemic.

But in reality – they're our last line of defence.

The true frontline is 6 million+ Victorians all making smart choices.

[Diana Tanvis Loi @itsalwaysdiana]

@c0cky1 @ALDIAustralia I was just telling a friend this seems so irresponsible of Aldi still doing the special buys in store during this time in my opinion...

Update on restrictions in Victoria:

[Chief Health Officer, Victoria @VictorianCHO]

This Easter weekend will be different to any others before. You mustn’t go to holiday accomodation or a BnB. Don’t visit relatives or friends or have them over. It’s hard. But if we drop our guard now, all our hard won gains will be lost. #StayHome #SaveLives

[Chief Health Officer, Victoria @VictorianCHO]

Some of the behaviour today - when we’re asking people to stay home - has been really crap. It’s hard to change habits and it’s hard to see dangers that aren’t apparent yet. But with 3,000 cases of COVID in Australia this week, we’re headed to 100,000 in 2-3 weeks without change.

New estimates put the total number of animals killed in the Australia fires at 1 billion. https://t.co/BdxVMPTSMt

[Dr. Lucky Tran @luckytran]

We can not underestimate the devastating ecological impact of the #AustraliaFires. 6 million hectares have burned, an area inhabited by 500 millions animals, many endangered. The climate crisis is transforming Australia forever.

I try keep Twitter light, but:

8 people have died, 17 missing, estimated 500 million animals dead, fires 11x bigger than those in the Amazon (which got worldwide coverage), yet hardly anyone outside of Aus knows about it and our Prime Minister is doing fuck all #AustraliaBurning
