Our pleasure and our duty,
Though opposite before,
Since we have seen His beauty,
Are joined apart no more.
To see the law by Christ fulfilled
And hear His pardoning voice,
Transforms a slave into a child,
And duty into choice.
—John Newton
You just ran off the Chicago Bears because they couldn't afford the $53M a year in taxes imposed by you and Brandon Johnson.
Anyhow, welcome to the Hoosier State, Bears.
Candace Owens is in Russia now posting about how amazing it is. As someone who grew up there, I can tell you with absolute assurance that you’re being played.
Actual realities of Russian life:
🧵
As revolting as this is, I'm actually a little glad that Candace said this, because it renders her agenda so transparent.
It's not "asking questions," it's not a hunt for "the truth." It's emotionally manipulative high school-level bullying from a narcissist. She is bitter that a person far better than her eventually saw her for who she really was, so she wants postumous revenge by attacking his family and the people he chose to put ahead of her.
How can people still fall for this act?
Search is full of ads and wrong answers. Every other email is an ad. Prime Video charges you and shows ads. Paramount? Ads. Peacock? YouTube? Hulu? Ads followed by more ads. Netflix full of ads. Meta and X, every other thing is an ad. Pinterest is nothing but ads. AI is in everything. AI finishes sentences incorrectly and won’t stop. AI reads your email and search history to target you with more ads. Every time you open an app or visit a site there’s an update making it worse. In a hurry? First, click here to agree to terms you don’t have time to read and must accept. You need an account to do that. Change your temporary password. Enter your 2FA code. Check your email and enter that code. Now use a passkey. Your password is too simple to remember. Change it. No, not like that. Now log on. Enter your 2FA code. Why don’t you like AI, it lets us make all of this easier? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? This is progress. You’ll be left behind. Do you want to be left behind? Do you???
Folks, this is real simple. Sasse rightly says that having a child is “placing a bet on the future.” Perfect. Here’s another key driver, then, of sex & birth rate declines: hopelessness. In the industrialized world, young people are suffering from chronic hopelessness.
If we had politicians like Sasse, regardless of whether you agree with him politically or not, that looked at the big issues and where to take the country rather than stroke the current hot topic of our time, we would be so much better off than we are today. So glad God is giving him some extra time to impart this wisdom.
Senator Ben Sasse, nearing the end of his life with the utmost grace and dignity, reflects on the foundations of patriotism. It begins with the devotion to your family, your neighbors, your faith, and your community. That’s the core idea of the American spirit - and the source of all the blessings America has today.
“Religion withdrew to its own arena, lost the relationship in which it stood with the other sciences, and appointed itself as the great master whose task it was to impede the unwelcome progress that the other sciences were making. All too often it forgot that our beautiful confession says that we know God from two books: the book of Scripture, as well as the book of Nature in which the majesty of the Lord of lords is revealed to us in golden letters.”
— A. Kuyper
Conservatives aren’t necessarily wrong abt James Talarico. His faith doesn’t challenge any element of the secular progressive social agenda. That’s wrong and seems like a political gimmick.
The problem is they’ve lost credibility by failing to apply a biblical standard to Trump.
President Donald Trump recognized Erika Kirk, the widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, during the State of the Union address. She was one of the president's guests. https://t.co/iCnVvVzOu4
On Tucker and Megyn...
Something hit me last night outside of their obvious descent into conspiracy riddled madness and endless chase for every last click.
Both of them came from mainstream media and are still relatively new to the online world. This isn’t the place they wanted to be, rather it’s the place they were banished to.
They come from the cutthroat mainstream world which only cares about views and egos. So their behavior in this ecosystem is just replicating that. They love the feuds, the quest for ratings, the little lies, the backstabbing, because that’s all they knew from their previous lives.
The online word was built by people who forged trusted audiences over long periods of time. Not people who were just given a flashy set, smacked with a lot of makeup and sat behind high contrast lighting and a shiny desk.
Trust and authenticity is the key in this world, but that’s not the world they come from.
Tucker was going down this path for awhile, and Megyn saw clicks and attention so dove in. As their ship sinks, they’re gripping onto each other like Rose and Jack at the end of Titanic.
Their former mainstream colleagues have lost respect for them, and they’ve chosen to spit in the faces of the new media people who they think they’re better than.
As they float in the icy waters of conspiracy and clicks, it’s important to note they never wanted to be in this space to begin with. They genuinely think they’re better than everyone else in the game because of their names, but that doesn’t fly in the online world.
On cable news you can lie to your audience over and over, and they’ll just keep tuning in because it’s all they know.
In the online world people will wisen up and find better choices.
They have chosen each other.
We’ll see how that works out for them…
