I don’t know Jason, or the details of his departure, but as someone who has helped a handful of high profile founders navigate their departures, this reads VERY differently to me than how most are interpreting it.
Things that immediately piqued my curiosity:
- it’s vague and seems rushed
- ill defined “advisor” position softening the landing
- investors and employees not saying anything outside of a few generic replies
- no statement from the new leadership
- no comms from the brand account on the leadership transition
- cofounder who is now in charge offering a polite, but somewhat vague, reply
- plan to work on something related within the ecosystem
Again, this is pure speculation, but I think most experienced comms ppl are reading btw the lines and coming to a very different conclusion than the rest of CT
