@BarstoolChief Flyers fans rejecting this trade are absolutely out of their minds insane if Debrincat would extend there. He's the best player in this trade and Larkin is the second. The others are younger, sure, but Larkin's contract is a steal.

@tyler14164 @HockeySnobElite Larkin's a 1C, he's just in the average to bottom half of 1Cs leaguewide. You'd want him as your #2 not because he isn't a 1, but because if you have somebody better you're getting elite production from both 1 and 2c spots.

@NorthStarDFS Our fanbase doesn't remember how bad it was when he took over. We just finished paying off the Abdelkader buyout. Took two years just to fix the cap before starting to build up. Larkin plays more impt position + longer contract, Boldy younger. Comparable players/value 1 for 1

Even late this year he was talking about being back, then requests a trade RIGHT after. Continuously lied, bitched to add, then we spend and he gives up. LOTS to blame

@SephMontroy There was definitely pressure from the Larkin side of things when it came to negotiating the long-term contract, but I somehow doubt that caused Steve to pull the trigger. I wonder if there was pressure from ownership to move things along.

It's a call for literally ANYTHING different not because of emotions, but because this doesn't work. We've seen it not work. Enough is enough.

@PapaSmithy @DShyKnock For most, this isn't an emotional call for mid-year changes. It was a call for changes two years ago after multiple collapses in pressure moments. It was a call for changes before this season started so we didn't have to witness the same collapses for a 3rd straight year.

@ivandemigoal Nah, I promise we don't think that. Woodward Sports doesn't know anything about hockey. The haul should be good, but no team in a window to trade for Larkin is giving up good young roster players. My hope in a deal with Utah is Desnoyers as the centerpiece

@Edgam1303 @HockeyWithDevin He's a legit 1C. He's one of the 15-20 best centers in the NHL. If he is your 1C though you're losing the 1C matchup against elite playoff teams. That is why he is ideally a 2C. Not because he isn't a 1, but because if you have better 1, you probably win both 1C and 2C matchups

@LSXYZ9 C9 always look alright in game one of a series. As it goes along and pressure gets higher, the same players make the same bad decisions/mistakes and they collapse. Seen the same pattern with this roster for so many years now.

@pucksanddreams_ Spot on. He's a top 15 to 20c in the league. He can be a 1c, but that's average value or maybe slightly below top opposition. If he's your 2c, he's absolutely elite value there and likely outperforming the opposing 2c in most or all instances. To say hes ideally 2c isnt an insult

@rakingfeet @pucksanddreams_ A lot of not being a PPG player I think comes down to who he has been on the ice with for most of that time and wearing out late in the year after being asked to be the top PK guy, the matchup center defensively, leading the power play, and expectations to drive all the offense.
