Tonight, Amirhossein’s sister urgently asked us to be her brother’s voice after the family was reportedly told to go and see him for a “final visit.” In Iran’s prisons, such a message can indicate that an execution may be dangerously close.

Amirhossein Safari is a 27-year-old young man and the sole provider for his family. He is one of the defendants in the so-called Alikhani Square case in Isfahan.

Amirhossein also lives with a severe physical disability. Following a previous accident, nerves connected to one of his hands were seriously damaged near the cervical spinal cord. His hand has reportedly lost sensation and practical function. Despite the existence of medical evidence documenting his condition, it was ignored during proceedings that resulted in a death sentence.
