NEW: Every week, a Philadelphia nun drives to the immigration court in Harlingen, Texas, to sit beside unaccompanied children, some as young as four, who face a deportation judge with no lawyer and no parent.
This week, an undocumented migrant who is facing imminent deportation called Sister Rose Kuhn his “angel.”
This comes as Catholics across the nation, inspired by Pope Leo XIV, are standing up to the White House’s immigration policies.
My heart is united with the suffering of the people of #Ukraine, who have lived in anguish and fear for years. I renew my appeal to put an end to the violence, halt the destruction, and open hearts to dialogue and #peace! I hope that the efforts undertaken in recent days to resume negotiations will bear concrete fruit and make room for diplomacy. Let us #PrayTogether to the Lord that concord may prevail in every conflict throughout the world.

Hey @Nike and @DICKS…
If you’re wondering why y’all’s quarterly earnings stunk and your stock is getting pummeled…
This might be one of the reasons…
I’m on a business trip and forgot to bring a simple workout T-shirt. I found a Dicks Sporting goods store close to me, walked in and headed for the Nike athletic wear section. I picked it up and looked on the price tag….
$60.
Sixty bucks!? For a simple. One color, polyester t-shirt.
Y’all….It’s a T-SHIRT.
A cheap, little polyester t-shirt that cost you around $5 for some 12 year old kid in Vietnam to make.
For context. I make a pretty good living. Money isn’t a huge concern for my wife and I.
I saw that price and asked the sales lady if it was a mistake. She said it wasn’t.
I walked out the door.
It’s a Nike T-shirt.
Not a Ralph Lauren Polo or some higher end brand.
Here’s the crazier part. I drove down the street to @Dillards and guess what the non discounted Ralph Lauren Polo T-shirt’s were? $55.
Maybe it’s just me.
But you’re NIKE.
There’s no way…I mean NO WAY, I’m buying a polyester t-shirt for $60.

HE’S ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY 📰 This is the cover of the New York Daily News on May 5, 1980: “Local Billionaire Takes on 74-Year-Old Stroke Victim — For the Principle.”
The “principle”⁉️ All tenants should pay their rent on time, no matter the circumstances.
So Trump, one of the largest landlords in New York City at the time, decided to make 74-year-old Mary Filan, who had suffered a recent stroke, an example — and evicted her.
18 Americans dead. Hundreds more wounded.
That's not "small potatoes", Mr. President.
As elites talk tough and bang the war drums from their gold-plated offices, it’s working class folks who have to pick up a rifle, jump in a tank, and do the fighting.
It pisses me off – and it should piss you off too.
Imagine being Mike Johnson & having to shut down the House of Representatives again after they just had a seven week paid summer vacation because you know that Rep.Thomas Massie & Rep. Ro Khanna are about to introduce the Epstein files Transparency Act II.
The deaths of our soldiers in your Iran war is "small potatoes"???
Fuck you, Trump.
We've served . . . we fought.
You haven't. EVER.
Chickenshit draft dodging asshole.

In April 2022, a 12-year-old Russian girl named Masha Moskalyova was told in art class to draw a picture supporting russian troops in Ukraine.
Instead, she drew a Ukrainian mother protecting her child as russian missiles flew toward them.
On the Ukrainian flag she wrote, “Glory to Ukraine.” On the russian flag: “No to war. No to Putin.”
Her school reported her to the authorities.
Police began investigating her father, Alexei Moskalyov, a single father who had raised Masha largely on his own. They searched his social media and discovered posts criticizing russia’s invasion and documenting russian atrocities in Bucha.
In December 2022, around a dozen russian security officers raided their home. They ransacked it, seized their computers, phones, and savings.
Alexei later said that during interrogations, officers beat him and slammed his head against the wall and floor. They blasted the russian national anthem at full volume while questioning him.
Eventually, the regime charged him with repeatedly “discrediting” the russian military because of his anti-war social-media posts.
Masha was taken away from him and placed in a state “social rehabilitation” center.
Alexei was sentenced to two years in a penal colony.
He later described horrific conditions there: a tiny punishment cell roughly two meters long, freezing temperatures, rats crawling out of the sewer, and days when he was forced to stand for as long as 16 hours because the bunk was locked against the wall.
Meanwhile, his daughter wrote to him.
“Dad, don’t give up.”
“You are my hero.”
They were separated for more than a year and a half.
On October 15, 2024, Alexei finally walked out of prison.
Masha was waiting for him.
Five days later, they fled russia.
They first escaped to Armenia and applied for a German humanitarian visa. After waiting for more than a year, their case stalled when Germany suspended the relevant humanitarian admission program.
Then France stepped in.
In March 2026, Masha and Alexei received French humanitarian visas and flew to Paris.
And on July 17, 2026, France granted them political asylum.
Today, Masha is drawing again and hopes to pursue art. She also writes and has spoken out in support of russian political prisoners.
When asked whether, knowing everything that happened afterward, she would still have made that drawing, Masha said she would.
“One only lives once.”
One drawing.
A child saying no to war.
And for that, the russian state destroyed their home, separated a father from his daughter, imprisoned him, and drove them both into exile.
This is what dictatorship looks like.

The Haitians being deported came here legally, did nothing wrong, and then were mocked on their way out.
