If you can succeed in a career you don’t even like, imagine what you could do with that same energy and willpower on something you actually love.

@theChrisDo I actually think you fit the definition of humble, as in a person who doesn’t think they’re better or more important than others.
I also see you as someone who knows what you can do and trusts your abilities, aka confident.
IMO, humble and confident aren’t mutually exclusive.

My parents in-laws stayed with us for one night while passing through to Salt Lake City. Two days after they left, we found this note on the bedside table. 😆♥️🥹

@godlouskiwrites It’s a common pattern I’m seeing with AI image generators, where I look a lot older or just not like me at all like the very last photo. Here are photos from Secta:
The older I get the more I realize that the secret to anything is that there is no secret.
Most of us are living under the delusion that there’s some special knowledge that is just out of our grasp, a “secret” that would unlock everything.
There’s no such thing.
So stop chasing the secret and just fucking do it.
@theChrisDo I find that a lot of people will buy that $2000 purse, but the idea of hiring a coach seems too intangible. I think a lot of this revolves around poor communication from the coach’s side, which then makes it harder to trust what you’d be getting if you hired them.
So many of my clients want to put themselves out there, but they’re so afraid of being judged.
I don’t lie - it’s not a question of *if* you’ll be judged, but *when.*
You’ll find yourself wanting to change what you share because of the haters. Please don’t—I’ve done that, and it just doesn't work.
I censored my writing so much I felt like a doormat. I hated myself for it. I quit writing. I was angry at the world, but most at myself because I’d given away my self-respect.
It’s taken me 15 years to come back to myself, to find my voice again.
What I’ve learned is that haters are going to say and do all kinds of shit. They’re just showing you who they are, and it has nothing to do with you.
Don’t make your choices for them, make them for you.
Because at the end of the day, you’re the one you have to live with.
As someone who helps people prep for interviews, one of the biggest mistakes I see is when someone answers a question too literally, like this—
Q: How do you organize your work?
Candidate: I put my papers into folders and then into the filing cabinet.
The better answer would look like this: I organize by deadlines/impact/teams/earnings.
Even saying something like certain kinds of work or projects by time of day would have been a better answer.

I’ve appeared on > 20 podcasts in 2023. Here’s what I’ve noticed:
The really great podcasts I’ve been on:
Genuine, connected conversation
Balanced back and forth between me and host
Relaxed energy, we had fun together
Flexible while still providing valuable insights
The podcasts that were more challenging:
Host too stuck on their list of questions
Robotic or zero flow
Stacking too many questions at once
Constant verbal interruptions
Too superficial, no depth
Host contributed nothing
@annelihansson74@theChrisDo I don’t bother replying.
My husband was surprised I ignored them because he thought they were legit until I told him I’ve gotten these exact messages hundreds of times before.
Plus when I check their profiles they’re always people who sell ads/video/ social strategy to coaches.
I told my mom that my husband and I went to a bbq last week.
My mom: You better keep an eye on those other women…they might take your man.
Me: Omg 🙄😅
I’ve said this a hundred times: if my man is so easily taken then I don’t want him anyway.
@theChrisDo A for me. I’ve attended a 6 day, 8 hr/day intensive before, and I would never do it again. It was too painful mentally and physically. Maybe I would mind less if I were 20 years old, b/c at 35 I couldn’t handle sitting for that long even with breaks. Plus my retention sucked.
