.@POTUS should declare that he is not running for re-election now. Doing so will open the field for the best potential Democratic nominee and give him or her the greatest opportunity to build a constituency to win.

Our country deserves a vibrant and experienced leader operating at his or her peak potential. Biden should take pride in his accomplishments and step aside for the next generation of leadership. Otherwise, he risks being forced to withdraw later for health reasons or lose when a better candidate could have won the election.

We live in a highly uncertain and dangerous time. We need great leadership to secure our country’s future. Increasing the probability that our next president is the best leader we can find is critical for our country’s prosperity.
