@Millerthegoat9@nucks0@basele_bekill They didnt even play on the same line for either the 22-23 or 23-24 seasons (except for that run in Jan 2024), they only played PP & PK together, so I'm not sure how Miller could be "the reason Pettersson was playing to that level"
@Nikolaiflyss I don't see any possibility of the leak being true just for the simple fact that they say it was supposedly done in December-- around the same time George did interviews that clearly wouldn't hint at any progress being made. Obviously he could've been lying but I doubt it
@belladonnafeli Also interesting on this is the influence from the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series by Tad Williams. The Others were imo clearly inspired by the Norns from that series, which would also potentially hint at there being more complexity to them than we think
@welchy3319 100%. As a canucks fan, the rivalry with Chicago in the early 2010s was by far the most memorable, and it would never have been a thing under this format
@DocStrangelove2 Not sure where he conceded to "barely" writing anything during covid. From everything I've seen, 2020 was by far the most productive year for him. The revealing thing is that it's getting clearer that he barely wrote any usable material for winds from 2012 - 2019
@_DavidMorrell I still need to read more of his work, but Hyperion was a truly incredible book that I'd recommend to anyone. The Scholar's Tale & The Preist's Tale will stay with me forever
Randomly went through a rabbit hole of old Pettersson interviews from around his rookie year, and what struck me most is how comfortable/confident he used to be in being the smaller guy who was elite because he was smarter than everyone else. Somewhere along the line that changed
@Howard4Hart Personally, I think you're downplaying the severity of the situation. I think he deserves even MORE punishment and should fall to the Canucks 2nd round pick instead
@Sapsterr_ I think Daniel definitely could've kept playing. Henrik looked like his body had completely broken down those last 2 seasons; it's actually impressive that he was still producing like a 2C even by the end
