The older I get, the more I realize why it’s so, so, so important to only keep those people around who have the same morals, manners, and the same level of consideration as you.
It’s not about being picky; it’s more about protecting my peace.
When you reach a certain stage of your life, then chaos and disrespect just aren’t as entertaining anymore. You start craving for peace, kindness, mutual respect.
And if you are going to come into my life and think that you are going to disrespect me and I will stay, or you are going to bring me chaos and I will stay no. No, no. I will take a U-turn, and I will walk out.
I would really like to protect my peace, please. Like seriously, I would like to protect my peace, please.
One skill that isn’t talked about enough is mastering emotion regulation. Knowing how to stay cool under pressure, how to manage & work through negative feelings & mastering the art of never allowing people to get you out of character. Learn how to control & manage your emotions.
Your level of maturity is inversely correlated with how much you want other people to celebrate your birthday.
I have never admired anyone who insisted his birthday was big deal.
Be civil to everyone. Be close to almost no one. Access to you should be earned slowly and revoked quickly. That's the price of having standards. In your entire life, the amount people can be trusted without a doubt can be counted on a single hand.
Learn to separate a bad moment from a bad life. A terrible conversation, a missed deadline, or an unexpected setback does not mean your trajectory is broken. Most people destroy their momentum over a temporary bad mood. When things go sideways, zoom out. The macro direction matters more than the micro chaos of one day.
You know a woman feels safe with you when she starts showing her real self. When she starts singing in your presence, being sillier, goofier, messy & unfiltered. When she starts acting like a baby but also gives you access to her very interesting, complex & intellectually stimulating mind
There are only two kinds of people who win in life. The first are the ones who have no backup, no safety net, no comfortable home waiting if everything falls apart. For them, failure isn't an option, so they do everything they can to turn their life around. The second ones are the people with brutally high self standards. They have everything the safety net, the support system, but in their head they've decided that being mediocre is unacceptable, even when comfort would let them get away with it. These two groups look like opposite to outsiders, but what they share is the same stubbornness of refusing to settle. They are not giving life in the hands of their circumstances or comfort, they've just removed the option to do anything less than their best. And that's the whole secret. The world rewards people who don't give themselves an easy way out. You either need life to push you or you push yourself.
dark sides of being independent you need to know before you become obsessed with it
1. you'll become so used to doing everything yourself that accepting help starts feeling uncomfortable
2. you'll stop communicating your needs because you're convinced you should be able to handle everything alone
3. people may admire your strength while completely missing the fact that you're exhausted
4. independence can slowly turn into isolation if you're not careful
5. you'll become extremely selective with people, and eventually your circle can become almost nonexistent
6. you'll start confusing peace with having nobody around
7. you can become so good at surviving alone that you forget how to build genuine intimacy
8. one day you may realize you don't actually want to do everything alone. you just got used to it
being independent is powerful but needing nobody isn't.. save, bookmark and share. buena suerte 👍
Live a life that nobody understands. You're winning. But there are no status updates. No photos. No stories. No reels. People be thinking, "why not share???". There is no need. The need to "perform" To show. To seek validation. You're happy. Fulfilled. Nothing else matters.
If you want to have original ideas, learn to do nothing. Literally. Sit with boredom. No phone. No music. No podcast. No endless scrolling. Just you and your thoughts. At first, your brain will hate it. It will look for stimulation. Distractions. It will tell you that you’re wasting time. Sit with the discomfort anyway. When you stop consuming other people’s ideas, your mind finally gets the space to create its own. If you never turn off the noise, you'll live and die an echo.
