José Fernández tried to get out of Cuba three times and got caught every time, and each failed try meant time in prison. He finally made it at 15, with his mother and sister.
When the boat hit rough water and his mother went overboard, he dove in and brought her back. They landed in Mexico and made their way to Tampa, where he went to high school. The Marlins took him in the first round in 2011.
In his first big league season he was an All Star and the NL Rookie of the Year.
These are the moments I will remember, and miss more than anything with Kruk and Kuip. They fill the downtime during the game better than any broadcast duo ever. Still so sad this is the last week😔
Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember and honor the life and ultimate sacrifice of Golden Bear rugby alum, Mark Bingham.

Reecie Colbert DRAGGED Laura Loomer so bad, she might have to get another facelift, transplant, or whatever that is on her neck.
I really spit out my drink and had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard 🤣🤣
You mocked me from outside the cage
Then 24 hours inside one brought you to tears
I won't mock you. I know why you cried
I've lived in that darkness for 1,190 days
It didn't break me
It made me invincible
We aren't the same
Find God @Nero
Every dollar my man E-40 takes from Stanford is one less dollar available for fraud or training nerds with egos so big you’ll dissociate to commit fraud. Fully support this. E-40, as always, doing work for the people absent due accolades 🫡
As an objective matter of statistics, two are currently perpetrating massive fraud, one will cause untold harm to humankind in government, and if any speaks more than 5 words in person you will somehow become extremely socially awkward
One of my favorite parts about SF is hanging out with my Stanford peers who make my $12M contract feel like chump change.
Varun Shenoy: cofounder of Long Lake, casually doing $6.3B acquisitions.
Ryan Kim: partner at Bain Capital Ventures, investing out of a $10B+ platform.
Me: occasionally makes corner 3s.
Eldridge is 21, in the bigs, and has been pretty good? Your user name ascribes a szn to a loveable but full career replacement level obscure outfielder - it was one throw
What a terrible throw by Eldridge. A big leaguer who can’t run play or catch should probably hit .300 and not strike out 25% of the time. Talk about over hyped
@HipHopHistoryGy@TonyDaDome Sacrilegious for the heads, but Full Clip for me - no question heavily influenced by age when it came out/the events of that time
