Just like you wouldn’t hand over the CEO role of a massive organisation with all its people, policies, finances and products to a complete novice with zero executive experience, even if the current setup has flaws.

That’s what handing the reins of the State feels like right now. Change was needed, no question. But this ain’t it.

The Tamil Nadu elections have handed a mandate to a party of overnight wonders, led by someone with no evident experience in running a State.

Democracy, after all, ensures people get what they vote for. This time, it was shaped heavily by the 18–24 age group voters with little appreciation for the credentials and competence required to govern a complex State like Tamil Nadu.

One can only hope they do not come to regret it. As history shows, democracy does not always produce the best outcomes.

All the best to a State I once loved and called home. Not anymore.

Her commentary is awful. She gets almost all names, positions and state of the match wrong entirely.

There are some awesome female commentators. Is that a need for Indian female commentator?
