PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) wishes to inform the public, particularly applicants holding offer letters in New Maiduguri City Layouts, that the Management has approved an extension for the payment of land premium charges.

Applicants were previously granted a one-month period to complete payments through the Agency’s online platform. However, in response to numerous requests from the public for additional time, government has extended the deadline to 31st March, 2026.

The Agency has since commenced the issuance of Grant of Right of Occupancy and urges all applicants who have not yet completed the required steps to take advantage of this extension to finalize their payments and documentations before the stipulated deadline.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to orderly city development, efficient land administration, and giving citizens the opportunity to obtain legal ownership of their allocations in New Maiduguri City.

PDP Northern Stakeholders Endorse Former Minister Tanimu Turaki as Consensus Candidate for National Chairman.

In a landmark development, Northern stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig have formally endorsed Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, as the consensus candidate for the position of National Chairman.

The decision, emerging from intensive consultations at the just concluded Northern PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, the group unanimously presented Turaki as a unified front ahead of party’s 2025 elective national convention scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The endorsement follows a weekend gathering of Northern PDP leaders, where the chairmanship slot was zoned to the North-West geopolitical zone to promote regional balance and party cohesion.
