Pantami Presents Certificate of Return to His Excellency Dankwambo!

The Governorship Candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, CON, on Thursday evening presented his Certificate of Return to the Leader of the PDP in Gombe State, His Excellency Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, PhD, OON (Talban Gombe), at his residence in Abuja.

The visit was part of Professor Pantami's consultations with senior leaders of the party following his emergence as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 election. Before the visit, he had also presented the Certificate of Return to the Chairman of the PDP in Gombe State, Major General Amnon Kwaskebe (Rtd.), and other party stakeholders.

Senator Dankwambo, who currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, is widely recognised for his contributions to the education sector during his administration as Governor of Gombe State between 2011 and 2019.

His administration established the Gombe State University of Science and Technology, Kumo; the College of Education, Billiri; the Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga; and the Gombe State College for Legal and Islamic Studies, Nafada. It also established the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Gombe State University and the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Dukku. During his tenure, the state's performance in national examinations improved significantly, with the pass rate rising from about two per cent in 2011 to 92 per cent by the end of his second term.

Receiving Professor Pantami, Senator Dankwambo congratulated him on his emergence as the PDP governorship candidate and thanked him for the visit. He wished him success in the forthcoming election and expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious, In Sha Allah. He added that presenting a credible, tested and widely accepted candidate gives the party a strong advantage because such a candidate enjoys broad public acceptance. Senator Dankwambo concluded by praying that Almighty Allah grants the party success and victory.

Professor Pantami also brings a strong record of public service to the race, having facilitated more than 241 projects and programmes across Gombe State.
