A very underappreciated aspect of an average TN voter is the clear demarcation they show between the personal and the professional lives of the people they vote for

Practically every political leader from Karunanidhi onwards have had unconventional personal lives.

I know for a fact that @gautam_adani bhai & @Adaniports paid more than fair value for Karaikal Port

Why I know? Coz I was the damn banker for the Karaikal Port deal when some banks mandated us for debt recovery in 2015

I ran a super tight process, showed this deal to DP World, Adani Port, PSA among others and GRK Reddy blocked ( then promoter blocked every damn deal)

Some background

-Karaikal Port was started by Marg Group ( GRK Reddy)

-Port was over funded by 1000 cr ( basically Promoters greased a lot of PSU banks (before IBC Days in 2014 ) to over fund the port and took money out, so basically a 1000 cr Capex became a 2000 cr Capex ( and 1000 cr taken out by GRK Reddy- tell this with a lot of authority, since I have visited Karaikal port 15 times during the deal times)

- At 21 MTPA, @gautam_adani bhai paid 70 cr / ton which is far more then global average of the ports

- Banks took a hit because, GRK Reddy was delaying the takeover process for 5- 7 years ( else the deal would have been done by 2015 when I was running it, I got like 3 term sheets for similar value ~1,200 crs in 2015 itself)

- Finally after a lot of pressure from the Banks, GRK Reddy was removed and the deal got closed in 2023 ~1400 cr ( atleast 200-300 cr higher than fair value coz @gautam_adani bhai wanted the banks to recover some of their interest)

- Lastly if not for @gautam_adani bhai, there was not a single interested bidder for the Port and banks would have lost all the money

So , kindly request you to think 100 times before vilifying entrepreneurs, if you start vilifying entrepreneurs for likes and shares, there wont be any entrepreneurs left in India
