I canβt hear it anymore.
Tom Henderson said he thinks GTA 6 marketing could start around August.
That is not the same as a confirmed Rockstar leak.
People are acting like he just pulled out Rockstarβs full marketing calendar.
Could August happen? Of course.
But acting like nothing can happen before August just because Tom gave his opinion is crazy.
Zelnick already said GTA 6 marketing is coming soon. And with the game only months away, βsoonβ obviously does not mean some random point in the far future.
Then there is the Best Buy affiliate email around May 18, which was reportedly verified as real by Insider Gaming.
Is that official Rockstar confirmation? No.
But it is still a way more concrete signal than just someone saying βI think August.β
What supports the August take:
- Rockstar is very secretive
- August is still a possible summer marketing window
- the Best Buy email could be early retailer prep
- Trailer 3 does not have to drop just because preorders might start
What goes against it:
- Tomβs statement was a prediction, not a confirmed GTA 6 leak
- GTA 6 is only months away
- Zelnick said marketing is coming soon
- Best Buy/affiliate preorder signals point to May 18
- Sony already started pushing PS5 upgrades around GTA 6
- Take-Two earnings are also right around the corner
So no, Trailer 3 is not confirmed.
But no, Tom Hendersonβs opinion does not kill the May or June hype either.
August can still be the bigger marketing phase.
But turning one prediction into βnothing is happening before Augustβ is just people treating opinions like leaks again.
GTA 6 preorders could reportedly start on May 18 according to the Best Buy leak.
If thatβs true, Rockstar canβt stay quiet for much longer.
Trailer 3 feels closer than ever.
@rockstationonx I hope so, but Iβm trying not to expect too much today. May still feels possible though. The longer Rockstar stays quiet, the crazier the drop is gonna feel
@_Tom_Henderson_ The theories are basically part of the rollout now. Rockstar stays silent and the community builds an entire marketing campaign for them.
