@CrimsonCast Here's another aerial from a similar perspective -- this one is from 1949. What's really interesting is the additional level of temporary stands on the south side. There were also more in the northeast corner of the horseshoe (look close for the footings)
@CrimsonCast If you want to pod about this, I've got thoughts. Back in the 70s, the Fourth of July fireworks in Bloomington were shot from Woodlawn field with the crowd seated in the old stadium. In retrospect, probably not a well-thought-out plan in terms of public safety on all fronts.
@CrimsonCast The yellow line is the east/west axis, based on the center of the wrought iron fence line and gate on the west (open) end of the horseshoe.
Dear @Pontifex -- As the very first ball-knower Pontiff, may I ask your support for the investiture of sainthood for #iufb Coach Curt Cignetti. I can supply evidence of multiple miracles.
Just woke up the entire floor of my mom's assisted living facility calling out the blocked punt & TD. (...and yes, I watch the #iufb games with my mom) #neverdaunted

What I really need to see is video from inside any Hoosier-filled bar when everyone comes together to sing the IU Credit Union jingle. #iufb#neverdaunted@iucreditunion
