Toxic Levels are set at > 0.05 mg/L in India and Bangladesh & > 0.01 mg/L in other parts of the world.

Characteristic lesion: Herald patch: annular lesion with collarette of scales; shows hanging curtain sign.

Diagnosis : Pityriasis rosea

MC viral trigger: HHV 7

Rx:
usually self limiting (resolves by 4-6 weeks)
If a/w pruritus :
Antihistamines
Mild to potent steroids

Why is the injustice met to a female resident doctor suddenly a “doctors’ issue” and not the concern of the entire society? It’s disheartening to see how the fight is only being led by the medical fraternity while no one cares to talk about the horror we are living through.

From facing “casual” workplace harassment to being sexualised for fun on call conversations amongst colleagues, & being called unsporting/ feminazi if you stand up against either, the issues are deep rooted & highly unaddressed.

It is beyond disheartening to see how a doctor is not safe even in her own hospital. The fact that she’s an alumni and that the incident took place in our state only adds to the horror of being an intern in this place, day and time.

The fact that the entire nation is not outraged and in uproar is nothing but just a further proof of how no one cares about the security of doctors at their workplace in this country.
Promises are made, doctors are sacrificed. For spending their time saving lives.
