@XRHackney@hackneywick Ah, but Mr Mayor (as I write from my hospital bed)) what can Hackney do about it? How about banning BBQs on London Fields? Tons of coal and wood burnt needlessly. What do you say?
@LundunFeeldz @hackneycouncil March. Time to act on BBQs on London Fields and get up the banned notices now before the rest of London decides for you...?
@LundunFeeldz @mayorofhackney@hackneycouncil Also remember that very old metal gas main pipe running right under the BBQ area? The one that sprung a leak last summer? The one that never made it onto any H&S assessments of BBQs? Ever?
Oops.
@LundunFeeldz @mayorofhackney@hackneycouncil Don't wait, @hackneycouncil. Get BBQ ban in *now*. It's the right thing to do after 2018 fire ban. Save money, improve park, safety and air quality, cut litter, rubbish and smoke pollution, allow grass regen. The Fields will still be a lovely place to go - "Bring a Picnic" .
@LundunFeeldz @mayorofhackney@hackneycouncil @feryaldemirci The end of the concept of BBQs in parks as a "public good" and the acceptance of them as hazardous would be a start.
Very wrong that @HackneyCouncil ignored local residents stating the obvious since 2011; #BBQ#pollution poisons the air in #LondonFields. Now we all know the whole BBQ area is over an old gas main pipe that leaked last summer. Dangerous, irresponsible, reckless. Ban BBQs now.
@westfieldstrat Thank you for your prompt reply, WSC. Who then is responsible for these "planning consents" and the ongoing discrimination against disabled drivers, please? Is it @towerhamletsNow or @hackneycouncil ?
@westfieldstrat Can you please explain why you charge full price for disabled parking at Stratford but not at Shepherds Bush, please? Is it something you've got against disabled people living in East London - or am I missing something more subtle? #disabled
@rita_krshn @LundunFeeldz Regardless, a 5 square metre "parklet" intervention really is gesture politics at its most irrelevant. The roadspace would be put to far better use as disabled parking bays - of which there are a real lack in Hackney. The money would be better spent on planting IN Hackney parks.
@LundunFeeldz @hackneycouncil Dealing with the irritatating and occasionally dangerous stream of cyclists riding on the pavement would be a start? It's almost as if the riders didn't know they are breaking the law. Or didn't care...
