I think what's commendable and exceedingly rare about Macklemore's statements on Palestine is that he correctly articulates "Free Palestine" as support for Palestinian Resistance. In this follow-up statement he doesn't just say that he stands with Palestinian people - he also (and most importantly) stands for Palestinian people's "fight for their liberation". He also expresses support for the fight for self determination (by any means necessary) in Hind's Hall 2, where he declares: "Long live the Resistance if there's something to resist".

This is what true solidarity looks and sounds like. Anything less coming from those with comparable or larger influence are engaging in miseducation and cowardice.
