1. Geregu Power.
For 2013, during PHCN privatization, Federal Government sell Geregu Power Plant, 414MW, to Amperion Ltd, Femi Otedola consortium, for about $132 million. Na public asset wey Nigeria build with public money.

After privatization, power sector no turn free market. Tariff still dey regulated by government. Gas price regulated. FX rationed. Federal Government still dey inject over ₦1 trillion every year through NBET payments, subsidies, and CBN interventions. When risk show, na government carry am.

By 2022 to 2024, Geregu list for NGX. At one point, Otedola control over 95 percent of the company. For 2023, public filings show say he begin offload shares around ₦289 to ₦291 per share. By 2025 to 2026, Geregu market valuation don near ₦1 trillion. Entry cheap. Downside socialized. Exit big. That no be free market genius. Na structural privilege.

2. Seplat Energy.
Seplat assets no come from open bidding wey ordinary Nigerians fit enter. Original oil block allocations trace back to military and early civilian regimes. Later, IOCs divest. Only people with license, regulatory access, FX, capital, and political clearance fit buy.

For December 2025, Maurel and Prom sell 20.07 percent of Seplat to Heirs Energies, Tony Elumelu group. About 120.4 million shares sold at around £3.05 per share. Total transaction about $500 million. Legal deal, yes. Open market for everybody, no.
